Home-coming

His Holiness Sakya Trizin
"Your Holiness, it is very cold in New Zealand this winter. Extra cold, I was told."

"No problem. We, Tibetans, love the cold."

* * * * * * *

"Your Holiness, you should go to South Island next time. It is very beautiful, like Tibet in certain places."

"Why didn't we go to South Island this time?"

"Next time, we promise. We shall start with pilgrimage to South Island, then to Wellington, Napier and finally Auckland. Ok?  2012?"

"Ok!"
For all those who were touched by His Holiness home-coming to Auckland, each will remember in his/her heart the special connection that will serve as support during times when everything seems bleak at that point. For His Holiness, the idea of commitment up to the disciples, whether or not, to look after the seed that has already being planted in their mind-streams. Even though these days, His Holiness tends to say, "There is no commitment."

Snippets Around Auckland
His Holiness, being early for his next appointment, decided to join us for a drink of tea in Starbuck's cafe, in Takapuna. Andrew, blushed and flustered, had the great honour and priviledge of buying coffee and tea for His Holiness and entourage.
His Holiness said that he wanted a Kiwi breakfast in a local cafe after the radio interview in University of Auckland. Tony heard that and grinned from ear to ear, and drove His Holiness to a cafe downtown, next to the harbour and offered breakfast.
Halirambus H. ( "Call me HH, I am Greek.") got the great task of finding a piece of straight stick, just before the Chenrezi empowerment. Through the power of prayer, it appeared, lying on a side lane, after half an hour of driving around Avondale. Sticky issue!

All these gentlemen, were volunteer drivers from Nyima Tashi.
On one of His Holiness' rest days, His Holiness said, "I want to walk around Auckland. York booked a 13-seater tour van and took His Holiness and entourage to St Joseph Memorial Park, near Mission Bay. It was drizzling, His Holiness put on his red woollen cap and went around the park. The sun did come out and plus the light rainfall, a beautiful arc in the sky formed. An outdoor teaching of interdependent origination.
For those who have taken the "King's Tradition of Avalokitesvara", a softcopy of the text is available upon request. Same for Vajrakilaya but Guru Dragpo text is somewhere around.
His Holiness Vision for NZ
Avalokitesvara Practice
His Holiness when requested what should a new (Sakya)Centre do in NZ: "Just start spreading 'OM MANI PADME HUM'."

Wise Compassionate Words!
Centre
Most importantly, a Centre should be located in a place that  it is convenient for others to come and study and practise Dharma together. That is the main purpose of a Centre.

Good Advice to keep in mind!
More about Centres
Be Practical
Don't create another branch if  the first one still has got an attached loan. Both would be  miserable.

NZ Dharma Centres
There will be many small Dharma Centres in NZ; and one day, they will combine effort to spread Dharma in a big way.
